Low Vision

Helping people with low vision to participate in life as fully as possible is a particular interest to Dr. Zeiler.  Since 2006 the office has begun to offer low vision evaluations and training to augment the low vision assessments done by the CNIB. 

Dr. Zeiler is an ADP (Assisted Devices Provider) authorized vendor for low vision aids for those whose vision cannot be helped by glasses. 

There are many aids for people who need assistance for near or distance vision.  Dr. Zeiler can assess your specific need and determine which aid is best suited for you. 

Aids for Near Vision:

  • Pocket magnifiers
  • Hand held magnifiers
  • Illuminated magnifiers
  • Hands free magnifiers
  • Spectacle magnifiers
  • Video magnifier

Aids for Distance Vision:

  • Hand held telescopes
  • Spectacle mounted telescopes
  • Television spectacles

Illumination Aids:

  • OTT light for illumination, used with magnifiers
  • Filters for glare control
  • Filters to increase contrast

High Tech Devices:

  • Coloured CCTV
  • Portable CCTV
